Banking tomorrow

Viva la Educación!

Or: Why it's a damn good idea to let design students loose on banking.

Design Case Study: University cooperation between Neugelb and h_da.

Fight the
Status Quo of
Banking

Tomorrow's banking needs new ideas; alternative, fresh, unconventional.

That's why we recruited the designers of tomorrow: students. In a meticulously planned operation, Neugelb brought our design professionals together with students from the Institute for Product Design at h_da Darmstadt.

We guided them on their joint mission, from the first meeting to a year and a half later when they presented the finished product idea to the Marketing Board in Commerzbank Tower.

The piggy bank's days are over: Neugelb and h_da are developing new ideas.

Teamwork done differently

Sure, if students want to get a taste of the practical side, they can do an internship. But do they really take on real projects, challenges and responsibilities? Rarely. With us, it's different.

The teams in this cooperation are made up of design professionals and students alike. Small, agile units. Ready for anything.

From Porto to Presentation

If you want to change the banking world, first you need to change your environment. So that's exactly what we did: 10 professionals from Neugelb and 10 students from h_da set off from Frankfurt to Porto to clear their minds and fill their sketch pads.

We lived together, cooked together, pitched together and worked together on a single mission: To create new ideas for the bank of tomorrow. The result? A lot of fun and three surprisingly different products.
